University of Zaragoza uses EMxpert EHX for teaching and R&D.

One of the secrets in success while designing and troubleshooting for EMI problems is to avoid the trial and error process: “… put a capacitor here, try a ferrite on that cable, and shield this area of the PCB …”

Working in that way is a time-consuming process and usually you will find frustration and delays in your time-to-market. EMxpert is from my experience one of the most useful tools you can find in the market to help you avoid the trial and error process. With EMxpert, you can literally see EMI signals. Scanning your board in the very-near-field with EMxpert can show you the path of EMI from culprits to victims, how the signal which made your radiated emissions test is created in the ringing of a diode, how effective a ferrite is in series with that diode, how a decoupling capacitor is working, and many other possibilities.

Arturo Mediano received his M.Sc. (1990) and his Ph. D. (1997) in Electrical Engineering from University of Zaragoza (Spain). He has a solid experience in EMI/EMC, SI/PI, and RF for industry, communications, scientific, and medical applications with companies in Europe, USA, and Singapore. He offers periodically public and on site courses through Europe and the USA, especially in Silicon Valley/San Francisco Bay Area. He is Senior Member of the IEEE, member of the MTT-17 (HF/VHF/UHF) Technical Committee of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society and member of the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Society.
