The Senior Firmware Engineer will design and code and test for embedded systems, develop drivers and other tools.
Proficiency in C, C++, embedded C, Java script and .NET.
Debug embedded systems using software and hardware test tools like oscilloscope and logic analyzers.
Test release candidate software/firmware and create software tools.
Creation of firmware architecture and design documentation and hold reviews with peers and managers.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary highly skilled group of engineers.
Advise management on project planning, schedule, risks and deliverable deadlines.
Research new software testing methods, coding standards and best practices to enhance EMSCAN products functionality and quality.
Support customer service requests, requests from sales reps, and R&D engineers.
Develop understanding of customer perspective and make product quality a top priority.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
5+ years of experience developing embedded firmware and Windows based software.
Experience with embedded platforms such as Vybrid, PIC, and MSP430 or similar systems required.
Demonstrated experience in writing code according to a coding standard.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks when facing a tight deadline
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills within a team environment

“I’m an electronics technician with 30 plus years in the automotive electronics field. We could not afford to spend a lot of time and money at the end of the development cycle trying to fix EMC failures, especially at the expensive certified EMC labs that we used for final compliance testing. Our in house EMC lab was used for pre-compliance testing, we were not certified. For susceptibility testing we did: strip line, TEM cell, tri-plate and bulk current injection.
