NEW! High resolution EMC and EMI testing has never been this fast! (min. resolution ≈ 120 microns). ERX+ is the world's fastest high resolution EMC scanner

For PCB Engineers, EMC design problems e.g. finding, characterizing and effectively addressing unintended radiators or RF leakage continues to be a persistent design challenge. This is especially true for groups designing PCBs involving high speed, high power or high density/complexity and where there is a premium on "real estate" on the board.

EMxpert allows board designers to pre-test and resolve EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) and EMI (electromagnetic interference) design problems in real-time, thus avoiding unexpected EMC compliance test results in anechoic chambers. You get insights about why designs fail, something no anechoic chamber can give you. You don't need to wait for anechoic chamber time for design iterations or to re-design and test by trial and error. You can now rapidly diagnose even intermittent problems, which may otherwise go undetected when using handheld or automated single probes.

NFC (near-field communication) antenna testing can easily be done on EMxpert in seconds. NFC antenna designers and manufacturers can easily verify that their antenna is operating as expected and validate their antenna’s emission level versus calculated results. EMxpert provides a fast and reliable NFC antenna testing to validate field strength of an NFC antenna at a given distance.

EMxpert also helps NFC (near-field communication) antenna designers and manufacturers to verify that the antenna is operating as expected and to validate the antenna’s emission level versus calculated results. They can conduct NFC antenna testing to

EMxpert is the perfect pre- and post- EMC compliance tool that offers unique, fast and cost effective solutions to the complex problems facing electronic design engineers today without the need for an anechoic chamber. The EMxpert system addresses emission, immunity, current distributions, filtering, EMI shielding, broadband noise e.g. Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) and common mode testing in mere seconds.

EMxpert product family is designed to address specific needs of engineers and designers:

  • EHX: High frequency EMC and EMI testing. You can test ultra-high speed (>2GHz) PCBs in real-time on your lab-bench. Scan range: 150 kHz and 8 GHz
  • EHX+: Plug and play high frequency EMC and EMI testing. Built-in spectrum analyzer turns EHX into a plug-and-play test system. Spectrum analyzer is a real-time high-end spectrum analyzer that can process 125 MSample/sec.
  • ERX+: Plug and play high resolution EMC and EMI testing. You can select 120 microns resolution level based on the density of your board design. ERX+ is equipped with a real-time, high-end spectrum analyzer that can process 125 MSample/sec.

Modes of Operation

PCB testing (smaller than the scan area)

Place the PCB directly anywhere on the grid of the scanner. EMxpert will detect problem frequencies and show the exact locations of hot spots or loops or even intermittent events on the board.

PCB testing (larger than the scan area)

You can take snapshots of the DUT by using the scanner like a hand-held probe. You can either move the scanner over the DUT or vice versa. Scan one particular area on the PCB and then move the scanner to the next position.

High density board or IC testing

High resolution EMC scanner: EMxpert ERX+ model allows designers and engineers to identify hot spots or current loops on any high density board or chipset in seconds with Level 1 resolution and then zoom into the problem area by selecting the resolution level based on the density of the board design.

Cable testing

Cables from and to the PCB can be tested for emissions. Place the DUT on the scanner and tape the cables on the scanner or simply tape only the cables on the scanner.

System testing

EMxpert will help detect any leakages from a system under test for both frequency and location.

In situ testing

EMxpert EHX model is light and compact. Bottom part of EMxpert EHX is made of anodized aluminum making it non-conductive. Scanner can easily be placed in a rack-mount system to test the PCBs in their working environment.
